Pochards (Aythya ferina) by Spicer and Sons of Leamington (male to the right). An iconic case and a matching case to these Widgeon by Spicer. The quality of the taxidermy is outstanding (see detail), and overall the case presents as a very beautiful natural history tableaux. There is an indistinctly signed pebble to the groundwork and a trade label to the rear of the case. This case is featured in A Record of Spicer's by Robert Chinnery (2001, p.300).
