Green Woodpecker by Richardson of Southsea

Home For Sale Back Next Case		Green Woodpecker (Picus viridis) by Richardson of Southsea, in a wall-hanging case. This is a male as shown by the crimson centre to the black moustachial stripe. Nice trade label to right hand side of the backboard. The photo does not do justice to this case, it is exceptionally pretty. I have only seen one other case by Richardson, which contained a Scaup duck. This was beautifully mounted but sadly had spent a long time without a glass and was dirty beyond restoration. I would be very keen to see other cases by Richardson as both the taxidermy, groundwork and overall composition are of the highest order. Size 14" x 10" x 5". <click image to enlarge>
